Chikmagalur Tour Packages

Five hours from the city of Bangalore is a hill-station, Chikmagalur, that you ought to visit, and there are umpteen Chikmagalur tour packages that’ll help you plan a getaway to this impressive town. Trees, hills, coffee plantations, organic farms, sunsets, it’s like heaven on Earth for nature lovers! In spite of being a small, old-fashioned area, there is just so much to do in Chikmagalur that a short getaway simply doesn’t do justice. Pleasant gusts of wind, light rainfall and chilly winters are just an added bonus.

An ideal
Chikmagalur tour would include treks through some of the highest peaks in the area, namely the Mullayanagiri and the Baba Budangiri range, which is just 10 kms from the former. Both offer unmatchable views of valleys, sunrises and abundant greenery that you can’t get enough of. A short distance away from Chikmagalur is the mighty Kudremukh, the highest peak at a height of 1894 metres above sea level, that you might want to conquer on your getaway and trek through the Kudremukh peak. Then there’s the Jhari Falls which resemble buttermilk gushing down from a height of 328 feet and the Hebbe Falls which are nestled within a coffee estate and are a magnificent sight to behold!

Speaking of coffee, make sure you visit the numerous coffee plantations while on your visit to the hill-station. You could also request a special tour of the coffee-making process and buy some fresh filter coffee to bring back home. Make a stop at the sizeable Hirekolale Lake, an ideal point for a photoshoot with friends and family, and end the day with a light meal at one of the many restaurants the town offers, serving up some delicious local cuisine like Bisibele Bhaat, Akki Roti and a variety of chutneys to go with it.
Chikmagalur packages generally include food, stay and travel so you needn’t worry about that.

Most of the
Chikmagalur tour packages are also customised to your preferences, so you can choose from a host of options. If you’re an adventure junkie , you can choose from a whole lot of treks, especially those that operate at dawn and dusk, so you can set your eyes on the splendid sunrise and sunset. If you’re an animal lover, you can head to the Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary and spend a day with flora and fauna, while on safari. Nature lovers can simply travel to all the beautiful waterfalls Chikmagalur has to offer and stop by at the lakes. There are gardens where children can play, temples where the elderly can find solace, and cycling and biking tours for youngsters to enjoy an adrenaline rush. Chikmagalur has something for everyone!

If you’re looking for something off-the-beaten-path, we’d definitely recommend spending the long weekend here. Surrounded by mountains, plantations, fields and falls, the ‘Coffee Land of Karnataka’ is definitely worth a visit!
